The two perform Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart’s Piano Concerto No. 20 in D minor and Frederic Chopin’s Piano Concerto No. 2 in F minor, op. 21. They are accompanied by the Altra Volta string quartet.

The National Philharmonic is the most important musical institution in Poland. It was founded in 1901, and was financed by Ignacy Jan Paderewski, among others. The building was designed in an eclectic style inspired by the Paris Opera by architect Karol
Kozłowski. After the war, it was rebuilt in 1955 to match the style of socialist realism. Its opening coincided with the inauguration of the 5th International Frederic Chopin Piano Competition.
