The Foundations’ scholarship recipients: Łukasz Byrdy (piano) and Cyprian Sekrecki (piano) were accompanied by the Altra Volta string quartet, and played the works of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart – Piano Concerto No. 23 in A major and Piano Concerto No. 21 in C major.
The music of Mozart was the theme of the concert, which is why L. Bösendorfer Klavierfabrik GmbH brought a grand piano from Vienna just for the occasion. Bösendorfer is a company founded on 25 July 1828 by Ignaz Bösendorf, and is the world’s oldest manufacturer of premium-class pianos. Professionals describe the sound of Bösendorfer pianos as both warm and incredibly vibrant. All future recipients of the scholarship also had the opportunity – and pleasure – to perform (and record albums) on Bösendorfer pianos.
